About ASDMA


The Assam State Disaster Management Authority was notified in the year 2007 with the adoption of the Disaster Management Act in the year 2006. Honourable Chief Minister, Assam is its Chairperson and Honourable Minister Revenue and Disaster Management is its Vice Chairperson. To execute the mandate of the Authority the State Executive Committee with the Chief Secretary, Assam as its Chairperson has also been notified as per provision of the Disaster Management Act. The ASDMA Secretariat with officers, consultants and employees, for carrying out the functions of the State Authority, became fully functional in the year 2010. ASDMA has also notified the District Disaster Management Authority in all the 27 districts of Assam and placed officers for carrying out disaster management activities at the district.

  • Comprehensive geo-spatial database for different disaster vulnerable areas within the region and making them available in a central server along with the available database thus meeting the major objectives of disaster preparedness and mitigation plans.
  • Development of support tools (including simulation models) for decision making exclusively for disasters relevant to NER using available geospatial data sets in centralized data server.
  • Establishing satellite based connectivity through VPN/ Space-net with the National and State Emergency operation centers and with the district authorizes for faster and more effective dissemination of space enabled services.
  • Develop actionable products and services in tune with the requirement of the region in partnership with all stakeholders in the region, and service the region in an operational manner.
  • To ensure most advanced and reliable mode of communication with redundancy and ISRO/NESAC to take initiative to familiarize the potential users on the operation of such instruments.
